Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently had the opportunity to visit with AP Government students at Smithtown High School West to talk to them about his role as New York State Majority Leader. The visit, which was arranged by Smithtown West teachers Erica Geldmacher and Joe Gatto, provided Senator Flanagan with the opportunity to speak with these students about the inner-workings of the Senate and to discuss important issues facing New York State.
Following a quick opening in which Senator Flanagan gave students an overview of how New York State Government operates, Senator Flanagan answered a number of questions about a wide-range of state issues.
"It is always a great honor to visit with students across the 2nd Senate District to give them a better understanding of our state government. I thank the teachers and faculty of Smithtown West for having me in today and also thank the students for their time, interest and their really good questions,” stated Senator Flanagan.
