Congratulations to the U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team on winning the gold.  The hard-fought game and thrilling final shots are captivating hockey fans across the globe and have made all Americans proud.  With the first women’s hockey gold since 1998, this team - including Western New Yorker Emily Pfalzer – demonstrated skill and tenacity that will surely be an inspiration to sports fans here in New York and throughout the country.  I have no doubt these young women will continue to lead, both on and off the ice, and show us all how to overcome the obstacles that may get in the way of achieving our goals.
