Addabbo answers students' questions at career fair in Rockaway Park

High school students at The Scholars’ Academy in Rockaway Park had the chance to meet with professionals across many different industries — including State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. — during their Career Fair on Friday, February 2.

Students had the chance to sit down with Addabbo and ask the Senator questions about the responsibilities of a legislator, how one becomes an elected official, how he started his journey to becoming State Senator, and a host of other questions.

“It always amazes me to see how much more interested young people are becoming when it comes to politics, the political process and the issues in their community,” Addabbo said. “The high schoolers at The Scholars’ Academy are talented and bright, and all have an amazing future to look forward to. It was great to give them a little background information on what it is like to be an elected official and to help so many people. No matter what career path they decide to go down, I told every student to love what they do and it won’t feel like work.”
