State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. recently held a nearly month-long school supply drive to benefit the Sacred Heart Food Pantry in Glendale, and with help from some amazing Girl Scout troops, neighborhood companies, and generous residents, they collect several boxes filled with school supplies and toiletries.
When Addabbo announced the school supply drive, girls from Girl Scout Troops 4791, 4015, 4081, 4128, and 4791 decided to pitch in and spread the word about the drive. They worked together to get Peter DeLucia from The Shops at Atlas Park, the Subway sandwich shop at Atlas, Ridgewood Savings Bank, Finally My Salon, and others to help collect supplies.
Together, everyone collected notebooks, pens and pencils, art supplies, book bags, loose leaf paper, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and more that will go to the families that use the Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
On Wednesday, October 5, Senator Addabbo was joined by some of the Girl Scouts to deliver everything that was collected for the drive to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
“What an amazing effort made by these Girl Scouts to help collect school supplies for less fortunate families,” Addabbo said. “I am grateful for the generosity of not only the businesses that set up collection boxes, but by the residents of our community for coming together for this supply drive. I would like to thank everyone who participated and donated, your kindness will go a long way in helping these families.”
Addabbo would like to thank all of the Girl Scouts that participated in the drive:
