Sen. Griffo: Area students honored with Youth Leadership Recognition Awards

State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-I-Rome, announced today that several high school students from throughout his district will receive New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Awards.
The students were nominated by their school districts for the award, which honors well-rounded candidates who excel not only academically but also through leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities.
The following students have been honored:
Andrew Fauvelle: Adirondack High School, Boonville
Hannah Hutchinson: Adirondack High School, Boonville
Braedon Nanna: Thomas R. Proctor High School, Utica
Emily Norton: Camden Senior High School, Camden
Yupha Lwin: Thomas R. Proctor High School, Utica
John George: Rome Free Academy, Rome
Rachel Milone: Clifton-Fine Junior-Senior High School, Star Lake
Morgan Sweeney: Adirondack High School, Boonville
Adam Mercer: Adirondack High School, Boonville
Mason Pfendler: Adirondack High School, Boonville
Audrey Eady: Thomas R. Proctor High School, Utica
Odin Steel: Thomas R. Proctor High School, Utica
Each student will receive a special certificate and letter from Sen. Griffo.
“It is encouraging to see so many young adults throughout my district have demonstrated so much talent, academic excellence and outstanding community service,” Sen. Griffo said. “We received applications from New York’s future entrepreneurs and leaders, who possess exceptional leadership qualities and the determination to make a difference in the future success of our communities.”
