Elected Officials, Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs to Host “IDNYC Access to Banking Community Forum”

What: Elected officials, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, and the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs will host an “IDNYC Access to Banking Community Forum”

Who: State Senator Leroy Comrie, Assembly Member Clyde Vanel, Council Member I. Daneek Miller, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Cambria Heights Civic Association

When: Thursday, January 25, 2018, between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM

Where: Community Bridge Home 120-50 Springfield Blvd., Cambria Heights, NY 11411

Why: The IDNYC card is a municipal identification card that is available to New York City residents age 14 and older, regardless of immigration status. While cardholders enjoy many benefits, including city-wide public library access and free one-year memberships to dozens of cultural institutions, the “IDNYC Access to Banking Community Forum” will showcase the banking benefits that come with the IDNYC card.

Organizers hope that attendees will leave this forum with a clearer understanding of how New York City is working to financially empower immigrants and small business owners as well as a greater sense of confidence in their own ability to achieve their financial goals. In addition to the elected officials, representatives from the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, and Carver Bank will share information and participate in a question and answer session. Translation services will be offered in Bangla and Haitian Creole.
