- Gun Safety
"One month ago, Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was propelled into the national spotlight following a tragic mass shooting that claimed the lives of seventeen of the school's students. Today, led by the survivors of that shooting, students across the country walked out of class to both memorialize lives lost to gun violence and demonstrate their resolve in the fight to make our schools and our country safer. They are organized, they are informed, they are engaged, and they are courageous. I stand with all students from the 14th Senate District who took part in today's walk out, and I remain committed to passing the common sense gun safety reforms put forth by the New York State Senate Democratic Conference."
