Senator Krueger Urges Department Of Health To Establish Maximum Contaminant Levels For Chemicals In Drinking Water

New York - Today State Senator Liz Krueger released a letter to State Department of Health Commissioner Howard Zucker urging him to set Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for PFOA, PFOS, and 1,4-dioxane. The Department had been waiting for a report from the state's Drinking Water Quality Council, which failed to meet a statutory deadline of October 2nd. The Department has stated its goal to begin testing for these chemicals in drinking waters supplies by the end of this year.
