ALBANY – Senator Pam Helming proudly celebrated Williamson native Courtney Hill and other U.S. Military Academy at West Point cadets during West Point Day at the State Capitol in Albany on Wednesday, May 9. As well as presenting Cadet Hill with a New York State Senate Proclamation honoring her service to our country, Senator Helming acknowledged Cadet Hill and offered remarks on her and family’s military service while voting in favor of a resolution memorializing West Point Day 2018. Cadet Hill, a 2015 graduate of Williamson High School, is the daughter of Army Master Sgt. Scott and Mrs. Dacia Hill and the brother of Army Capt. Corey Hill, a 2014 West Point graduate.
“The U.S. Military Academy at West Point has a distinguished tradition of preparing the finest U.S. Army officers to serve and sacrifice on behalf of our nation. After completing their education, these officers go on to defend our freedom and way of life across the globe. Similarly, Cadet Courtney Hill, a Williamson native, is following in the footsteps of her father, a veteran U.S. Army master sergeant, and her brother, an Army captain who also attended West Point. I am so grateful to Cadet Hill and all of these outstanding young men and women who have made the decision to serve our country as members of the military. I was proud to recognize Cadet Hill on the floor of the State Senate, and I wish her much success during the rest of her time at West Point and in her Army career,” Senator Helming said.
