Senator Gallivan Attends Graduation for NYS Troopers

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) attended graduation ceremonies Wednesday for the 158 new members of the New York State Police. Gallivan, a former State Trooper and Sheriff of Erie County, is Chair of the Senate Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction and represented the Senate at the ceremony.

“I was proud to attend the 207th session graduation in Albany,” Senator Gallivan said. “These brave men and women come from communities across the state and join the long gray line to serve and protect New York and its citizens. I wish them the very best as they begin their law enforcement career.”

Among the graduating class are the following residents of the 59^th State Senate District:

Jeremy Appell; Boston

Eric Delecki; West Seneca

Michael Lawandus; Lancaster

Brian Leonard; West Seneca

Nicholas Marinaro; West Seneca

Anthony Ward; Elma

Maryama Mccarty; Springville

The graduation ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Hall in Albany where the new troopers marched into the convention center in a procession lead by the New York State Police Pipe and Drum band. The new troopers will report for field duty on November 19, 2018. For the following 10 weeks the new troopers will be evaluated under a field-training program supervised by senior Field Training Officers.

The ceremony included a video presentation of the training received by all members of the 207th Basic School Session.
