Ritchie Assists Town of Theresa Purchase New Wheel Loader

State Senator Patty Ritchie has delivered $50,000 to the Town of Theresa to help offset the cost of the town’s new John Deere wheel loader.

The town, which only has the budget for one loader, will use the new tractor almost every day for projects that require the movement of stone and gravel, cutting brush, loading trucks with sand in the wintertime and moving snow. The town’s previous loader was more than 13-years-old and had become unreliable.

“We all know how important it is to have clean, safe roads in the wintertime,” Senator Ritchie said. “It is sometimes easy to forget the importance of making sure the equipment that makes that happen has to be in working, reliable condition. I am pleased to have been able to help the town purchase this loader, which will ensure its residents—and those driving through—are as safe as can be when they are using the roadways.”

“Without a reliable loader in the winter helping sand our roads, we can’t possibly do our jobs and keep our residents safe,” Town of Theresa Highway Superintendent Darren Edgar said. “We are just a small town doing the best we can and when people help us, it is more appreciated than anyone could ever know.  We want to thank Senator Ritchie for looking out for the Town of Theresa and helping us make this important purchase.”

The Town of Theresa was also able to trade in its old loader to cover a portion of the cost of the new loader.
