State Senator Patty Ritchie joined local St. Lawrence County officials to help cut the ribbon on the newly improved Gouverneur Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office. The rehabilitation project featured several upgrades, including a new third terminal for guests.
The new terminal will help the Gouverneur DMV meet a growing demand and help employees provide a better customer experience, generating revenue for the county and saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
“As a former St. Lawrence County Clerk, I certainly understand just how important it is to have updated facilities and to provide people with the best customer service possible,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I know our current St. Lawrence County Clerk, Mary Lou Rupp—and her staff—go above and beyond to achieve those goals. I would like to congratulate them on their hard work to make these improvements possible, and look forward to seeing how they benefit the local community.”
In addition to the ribbon cutting, the Town of Gouverneur honored St. Lawrence County Clerk Mary Lou Rupp for her service to the county at the event by dedicating the DMV office in her honor.
