State Senator Patty Ritchie is helping the taxpayers of Pamelia by securing $50,000 in state funding to outfit the aging Pamelia Fire Hall with energy efficient upgrades.
The town used the funding to purchase two new furnaces, a new HVAC system, a small, on-demand water heater and patch the old roof.
“The Pamelia Fire Department is a volunteer fire department which works hard to respond to emergency calls all year long,” said Senator Ritchie. “I am pleased to provide the necessary funding to upgrade its fire hall and save its residents money at the same time.”
“We are super grateful for Senator Ritchie’s support to help us make our town hall more energy efficient,” said Pamelia Fire Chief Greg French. “What we expected to get done with the funding we got done and we are happy about that.”
In addition, the town used funding to cover the costs of residing the fire hall’s crumbling brick exterior with metal siding.
