State Senator Patty Ritchie has secured $50,000 in state funding to help the Town of Macomb renovate its town hall.
The funding secured by Senator Ritchie will go towards the purchase of a new furnace, rugs, gutters, phone system and energy efficient lighting in the town hall. In addition, the town will create a new parking lot.
“Small towns have limited funds to upgrade their town buildings which house town offices,” said Senator Ritchie. “That’s why I think it is so important to help ensure a town like Macomb gets the financial help it needs to have an energy efficient town hall to save money for its residents.”
“On behalf of the Town Board, Town of Macomb, we wish to thank the efforts of Senator Ritchie in helping us secure a $50,000 grant to upgrade the Macomb Town Hall,” Macomb Town Supervisor George Blatchley said. “A number of these items will allow us to move forward with cost savings and greater energy efficiency."
In 2015, Senator Ritchie secured $50,000 to help the town of Macomb cover costs associated with necessary upgrades at its town garage. The funding was used to purchase a new furnace and to install insulation for energy conservation.
