State Senator Patty Ritchie this week toured North American Tapes, an adhesive tape manufacturer located in the Jefferson County Industrial Park, whose biggest customer base is professional hockey teams.
During the tour, Senator Ritchie met with owners Darrin and Brenda Prance, who talked with her about their hope to expand North American Tapes’ operations in Jefferson County, and grow its market.
North American Tapes, which also has a sister operation in Canada, was the first Jefferson County business to become a member of the foreign trade zone. The company was recently awarded $150,000 through the Regional Economic Development Council to assist with its expansion plans, which could help boost its number of employees to nearly 50.
“The Prance family is the perfect example of the American Dream. They moved here 15 years ago and have worked incredibly hard to get North American Tapes to where it is today,” Senator Ritchie said.
“An expansion of North American Tapes would not only reward the Prance’s for their hard work, but it would bring new jobs to our region and boost Jefferson County’s economy.”
In addition to its expansion, North American Tapes is also installing solar panels on site at the Jefferson County Industrial Park, which will reduce its carbon footprint and improve its bottom line.
