Recently, Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I,Ref-North Tonawanda) presented $40,000 in public protection funding to five law enforcement departments across Orleans and Monroe Counties. Hosted by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, representatives from Brockport Village PD, Ogden Town PD, the Village of Medina PD and the Village of Albion PD also attended the ceremony. The various departments will use these funds for new public protection programs like the establishment of a body camera program or for new equipment such as a live scan finger-printer.
“Ensuring we continue to properly fund and support those who put their lives on the line for our community each day continues to be a priority of mine,” said Sen. Ortt. “While this funding will go directly toward helping improve the public protection capabilities of each of these departments, the trickle-down effect will be improved service to the individuals of the communities these officers serve. Every day, criminals are becoming smarter and it is important that we continue to provide our law enforcement officials the ability to stay one step ahead of the bad guys – keeping our families safe.”
