Senator Roxanne J. Persaud brings Resources to seniors in the District.
(Brooklyn, NY) On Thursday, September 6, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud will host hundreds of seniors in the district, providing lunch, snacks, music, and access to vital information in a fun-filled environment, 1222 East 96th Street, Brooklyn. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.
Over 30 agencies will be present to provide information to the active adults in the Nineteenth Senatorial District, including NYS Department of Public Service, Downstate Hospital, AARP, MTA NYC Transit, NYC Fire Department, Brookdale Hospital, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, Brooklyn District Attorney – Elder Abuse and SNAP.
The event includes opportunities for networking and socializing, raffle giveaways, entertainment, refreshments, opportunities for pampering and self-care.
"Many of our seniors have restricted resources at their disposal, or limited mobility, however, they continue to thrive. Many are not aware of the services for which they are eligible. I am delighted to connect our seniors to agencies, organizations, community resources, and services they need to remain empowered! In addition, if seniors know where to find vital information and what is happening in the community, they will be more independent and less likely to suffer from the actions of unscrupulous scammers. I celebrate our seniors and will continue to work to ensure they are treated with dignity so that they will live life to the fullest.’ Senator Persaud said.
Senate District 19 Senior Resource Day is co-sponsored by Sunrise Adult Health Center. This event is in keeping with Senator Roxanne J. Persaud’s commitment to improving the quality of life for seniors and constituents in general.
