Senator Roxanne J. Persaud Host Seminar For Community Small Business Owners

(Brooklyn, New York) Senator Roxanne J. Persaud sponsored a seminar for local community small business owners regarding the 2018 Tax Reforms. This IRS Tax seminar was held on October 3, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Conference Room at Capital One Bank, 1425 Rockaway Parkway.
This event is part of Senator Persaud’s long-time advocacy and support for community small businesses. Senator Persaud has worked tirelessly to help area entrepreneurs and small businesses unleash their potential, help grow the local economy, and help more area residents find good jobs.
“The new tax laws may be daunting for many small business owners and entrepreneurs, and I want to help them navigate these changes," Senator Roxanne J. Persaud said. "Small business owners especially those who may not have access to the services of a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), may be at a disadvantage if they are not aware of the changes in the 2018 Tax Laws. This is why I am proud to provide this service to them."
The Small Business owners had the opportunity to learn from experts, to ensure they would be able to take advantage of all the deductions available to them and also avoid potential pitfalls or problems. The seminar was presented by Warren M. Bergstein (CPA-Partner), Jack E. Gold, (CPA-Partner). The topics included changes in Standard Deductions, Corporate Tax Rate and Qualified Business Income(QBI). There was ample for questions and answers and valuable insight about workplace expenses.
Luc Saint-Preux, Director, Neighborhood Business Outreach represented the Brooklyn Chambers of Commerce.

This event was held in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service(IRS), Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Capital One Bank(Rockaway Parkway Branch).
