Senator Tom Croci Announces Future Plans
Croci announces recall to active duty ending chance for third term in NYS Senate
“I am being recalled to active duty and have accepted orders that preclude me from being a candidate for public office. I therefore will not be seeking a third term representing the Third District in the New York State Senate.
It has been my great privilege to serve the families and communities of Suffolk County as Senator these past four years. I have worked extraordinarily hard and together we have won great victories for the people of our district and our state. I will miss my colleagues in the Senate and all of the people I have been fortunate to meet along the way.
Although I will not be running for re-election to the Senate, I will continue to proudly serve my neighbors and community as a Naval Officer. Our community has always been supportive of our members of the military – Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, and particularly our veterans. We understand all too well the lessons of September 11, 2001, and recognize the higher calling of service in the U.S. Armed Forces and the importance of keeping our citizens safe.”
Croci spent over 8 years on active duty with four tours in the Middle East. He currently holds the rank of Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
