Kaminsky Unveils New Ambulance for Hewlett Fire Department

(Hewlett, New York) - Today, Senator Todd Kaminsky unveiled a new ambulance for the Hewlett Fire Department. The Hewlett Fire Department was awarded $250,000 in state funding from Senator Kaminsky and the State and Municipal Facilities Grant program to purchase a new ambulance after they lost theirs in a fire. The department also unveiled their 9/11 Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
“In today’s day and age - when safety concerns are extremely relevant, having a proper emergency fleet is more essential than ever,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “I am glad to have helped the Hewlett Fire Department pay for this critical vehicle to secure the safety of my constituents.”
The Hewlett Fire Department also unveiled their new fleet which consisted of the Spartan Metro Star Pumpers, PL Custom Ambulance and Ferrara 102 ft Ladder.
“The Fire Medic Company is a vital component of the Hewlett Fire Department. With the assistance of Senator Kaminsky, the Hewlett Fire Department was able to purchase a new state of the art ambulance containing all the best equipment so we can provide the greatest level of care. The Hewlett Fire Department’s highest priority is public safety and the safety of our members. Senator Kaminsky has helped us improve our equipment and supports all the effort put forth by our Department to protect and serve the public. As the Chief of the Hewlett Fire Department, I would like to thank Senator Kaminsky for his help and support,” said Bryan Kohlmier, Chief of Department, Hewlett Fire Department.
