Senator Larkin Presents $150K Check To Town Of Marlborough For New Playground
August 9, 2018
Senator Bill Larkin (R,C, I-39th District) today presented a $150,000 check to Town of Marlborough Supervisor Al Lanzetta and the Citizen’s Playground Committee for the construction of a new inclusive playground at Cluett Schantz Memorial Park in Milton.
The new ADA compliant inclusive playground will be constructed on the site of the park’s existing 3,600 square foot play area. Since it was first built in 1986, the existing playground has become outdated and no longer meets the needs of children and their families.
“The Town of Marlborough will finally have a place for children to play, regardless of ability,” said Town of Marlborough Supervisor Al Lanzetta. “They will be able to appreciate the differences and similarities between each other and learn to be more tolerant and accepting of others. Best of all, our children will share joyful physical activity.”
“Playgrounds are places where children and families can have fun, exercise and, most of all, create lifetime memories together,” said Senator Bill Larkin. “I am happy to be returning this money to the Marlborough community so that it can replace this outdated playground with a new, improved and more inclusive one.”
This funding is through the State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM) and will be administered by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY).
