Brooklyn, NY — Senator Andrew Gounardes today announced two shredding and e-waste recycling events, one in Bay Ridge and one in Marine Park, to bring these services directly to residents in their own communities.
The Marine Park event, co-sponsored by Assemblymember Jaime Williams and Councilman Alan Maisel, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 9 at the Avenue U Parking Lot, 3244 Avenue U, between East 33rd and Stuart Streets.
The Bay Ridge event, co-sponsored by Councilman Justin Brannan, will be held on November 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Anselm’s Church Parking lot on 4th ave between 82nd and 83rd. Both events are rain or shine.
“They may not be glamorous, but the shredding and e-waste events are among the most popular ones that we hold because so many people need them. I wanted to make it easy and convenient for residents to get rid of what they don’t need, whether it’s old documents or a broken TV. So come one, come all to our shredding and e-waste events. I’ll see you there!” said State Senator Andrew Gounardes.
E-waste includes working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, cell-phones, cables and TVs. Personal documents for shredding include old bank statements or pay stubs, credit card applications, or materials with personal identifying information.
