Senator Andrew Gounardes to Hold Community 9/11 Vigils

Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Andrew Gounardes is announcing two candlelight vigils on Wednesday, Sept 11, 2019 to commemorate the 18th Anniversary of the tragic attacks of Sept 11, 2001.
The first vigil will take place at 6 p.m. in Marine Park in front of the Carmine Carro Community Center. The entrance is at Fillmore Ave and Marine Parkway. The second vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. in Bay Ridge at the American Veteran’s Memorial Pier, on Bay Ridge Avenue and Shore Road.
“Our community comes together each year to mark the events of September 11th. Together, we mourn those we lost and recommit ourselves to keeping their memories alive. As the years pass, it remains essential to remember and reflect on the events of that day and how it forever shaped our lives, our city, and our nation,” said Senator Andrew Gounardes.
