Senator Andrew Lanza Partners with 1199SEIU Employment Center to Connect Staten Islanders with Job Opportunities

Staten Island, New York- Senator Andrew Lanza and 1199SEIU Employment Center partnered together on Thursday, October 10, 2019 to promote job opportunities in Staten Island’s healthcare sector. Held at the Woodrow United Methodist Church, nearly 200 job seekers expressed interest in employment opportunities in local hospitals and nursing homes.
Employment interviews and recruitment efforts occurred for numerous positions including but not limited to, certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, licensed social workers, licensed practical nurses, and lab technologists, as well as in the hospitality, clerical, and food service fields.
Staten Island hospitals and nursing homes are often seeking to fill open positions and work with the 1199 SEIU Employment Center to identify qualified candidates.
Attendees met one-on-one with 1199SEIU recruiters. The 1199SEIU Employment Center offers full placement services, including resume reviews, screening, one-on-one interviews, and applicant matching. Opportunities may include full time, part time, and per-diem positions.
