CARLE PLACE, NY (December 19, 2019) -- State Senator Anna M. Kaplan (D-Great Neck) announced today that she has secured a $50,000 grant for the Village of Great Neck Plaza to fund roadway and infrastructure repairs. The grant is funded through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, and is the first of many local grants to be announced by Senator Kaplan under the program. "I went to Albany to fight for our communities to have the resources they need and deserve, and by bringing back funding through the SAM program, we can make critical investments in our community without burdening local taxpayers," said Senator Anna M. Kaplan. "This grant will ensure that the Village of Great Neck Plaza can continue to maintain roads and infrastructure without burdening local taxpayers, and I'm grateful for the partnership of Mayor Celender to ensure our local roads and infrastructure are kept in a state of good repair." Village of Great Neck Plaza Mayor Jean A. Celender said "The Village of Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees and I want to thank New York State Senator Anna M. Kaplan for securing a 2019 State and Municipal Facilities (SAM) Program Grant of $50,000 for the Village. This is great news and the grant monies will be allocated to our ongoing roadway and infrastructure repair and maintenance program. This multi-year program is designed to maintain more than thirty Village roadways and infrastructure in a State of Good Repair in a three to five year period. We are proud to partner with Senator Kaplan and greatly appreciate her leadership and support, which will help us reach our goal of safe, well-maintained roadways while at the same time leveraging Village funds with these grant monies." ### |
