Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day
Senator Daphne Jordan
June 6, 2019
Today marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy that took place June 6, 1944. This military action was the turning point of World War II and began the liberation of Europe from Nazi control. D-Day serves as a reminder that, no matter the odds or challenges, the forces of optimism, hope and freedom -- America's armed forces, our best, brightest and bravest -- can overcome hate and tyranny. God bless our D-Day veterans and all our veterans of World War II and all wars. We honor your service, sacrifice and patriotism!
