It meant a lot to our community today that U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Eliot Engel took time out of their busy schedules to come to Rockland, following the attack in Monsey. They listened to members of the Jewish community and State and local elected officials about the rise in anti-Semitism, eliminating hate and hateful rhetoric online, strengthening security, and ways to increase tolerance. I found the conversation productive and a stepping stone towards tangible solutions. We know the problems that we are seeing will not be solved overnight, but in Rockland and New York State we are unified in our effort to find solutions and break down hate."
