STATEMENT FROM SENATOR GEORGE AMEDORE
February 28, 2019
The decision by the New York State Department of Labor not to pursue burdensome on-call scheduling requirements is a huge victory for New York’s business community. The adoption of these requirements would have made it even more difficult and costly to do business in New York State.
I give credit to all the business owners who joined together to speak out and fight back against a one-size fits all approach that was bad public policy. Their grassroots efforts and advocacy played a large role in defeating this mandate, which would have harmed countless New York business owners.
It is these type of misguided proposals that highlight the importance of having individuals in elected office that have real world experience and truly understand how the private sector operates, and how the decisions made in the public sector can affect our small businesses and our economy.
