Senator James Sanders Jr. Calls for Police Officer in Eric Garner Case to be Fired
August 2, 2019
State Senator James Sanders Jr. said: “It has been five years since the chokehold death of Eric Garner, but it is never too late for justice. I stand with the Garner family and other people of good will in supporting an NYPD judge’s decision to fire Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo. His misconduct in using chokehold force on a man who repeatedly told him he couldn’t breathe is disgraceful. The least we can do is make sure he never wears a police badge again. This is not the type of man who should be representing the NYPD.”
