Senator Skoufis Secures $90,500K for Cornwall Public Library
Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) announced that he helped secure $90,500 of vital funding for the Cornwall Public Library to upgrade their lighting and install a new generator. The grant came from the library construction aid program funded through the state budget.
“It’s imperative that our libraries are provided with the funding they need to ensure our community can access its indispensable resources,” said Senator Skoufis. “When we support our local libraries, we support students, families, and our communities at large. I remain committed as ever in delivering real assistance for the needs of our community.”
Charlotte A. Dunaief, Director of the Cornwall Public Library said, “We are incredibly thankful to Senator Skoufis for securing $90,500 for our library to make necessary upgrades. With this funding, we will be able to update our electrical and lighting services, as well as install a new generator. As the place in the community where many come to work, search for jobs, and study, it’s imperative that our operation runs smoothly. Our residents and students will undoubtedly benefit from this funding and I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Senator for our Cornwall community.”
Last month, Skoufis also announced $15,000 for the Cornwall Public Library to purchase additional public computers and laptops.
