Skoufis Opens First North Rockland Senate Office in Decades
Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) officially opened his North Rockland District Office. For the first time in recent history, the 39th Senate District will have an office in Rockland County. The Senator was joined by Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Rockland County Legislators, Town of Haverstraw elected officials, Village of Haverstraw elected officials, and Village of West Haverstraw elected officials, as well as constituents and community members in North Rockland.
Senator Skoufis said, “When I was elected to serve the 39th District, that meant all of it, which is why I felt it was absolutely imperative that I opened an office in North Rockland. I want to be as accessible as possible to my Rockland constituents, who have been neglected by New York State for far too long. I also made sure that one of our bilingual staffers will work full-time in this office to best serve our Spanish-speaking constituents. This accessibility means that our door will always be open, my staff and I will be around the area, and these communities can turn to us for help whenever they need it. I’m honored to serve the North Rockland community.”
“This new office is a win for Rockland; increasing access to our State level representatives can only lead to improved outcomes and increased advocacy for the issues that matter to our residents,” said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. “I thank Senator Skoufis for his attention to the North Rockland community and expect to see him soon for a pint at Industrial Arts Brewing Company and dinner at Hudson’s Mill Tavern. The Garner Arts Center and Village of West Haverstraw are thriving and the opening of this office is a recognition of that fact.”
The office will be open from 9-5, Monday-Friday, with three full-time staffers, including a bilingual speaker. The Senator will be in the North Rockland office on a regular basis, commuting between it and our Orange County location.
The office is located in the Garnerville Arts Center:
55 West Railroad Avenue
1st Floor, Suite A-2
Garnerville, NY 10923
Senator Skoufis encouraged North Rockland constituents to stop by the office to meet the staff, and expressed that his staff will soon be going door-to-door in North Rockland to meet constituents.
