“Last night’s storm and continued strong winds have hit the 49thSenate District very hard with flooding and power outages in several areas. Herkimer, Hamilton and northern Saratoga County were particularly hard hit with significant flooding. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for those counties and several other Upstate counties and is deploying 200 National Guard members to help in the flood response and I appreciate his efforts.”
“Once the total damage has been assessed and the danger has passed, I will be working with our local officials, my state legislative colleagues, and the Governor to seek state assistance to help our communities and homeowners rebuild as the state has done in other parts of New York when disasters strike. My prayers are with all those who have been impacted and my deepest gratitude to all the first responders who have put their lives on the line to rescue others.”
Attached are photos we have received of flood damage in Indian Lake in Hamilton County, Edinburg and Day in Saratoga County, Wells in Hamilton County and Hoffmeister in Hamilton County
