Tedisco Helps Launch “Send It HDR III App” to Enhance Safety on Great Sacandaga Lake, Honor Henry D. Ross III Memorial Fund

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) today at Lanzi’s on the Lake in Mayfield, joined with local officials and members of the community to help support the launch of “Send It HDR III App” to enhance safety on the Great Sacandaga Lake.

The “Send It HDR III App”, is named for the late Henry D. Ross III of Mayfield, who tragically lost his life in December 2016 in a snowmobile accident on the Great Sacandaga Lake. The “Send It HDR III App,” which uses GPS technology, allows mobile phone users to alert each other of hazards on the lake and eventually for off-road snowmobile activities. The “Send It HDR III App” is available in the Apple Store and for Android phones. It was made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Henry D Ross III Memorial fund and with support of the community.

Tedisco presented a New York State Senate citation to Henry D Ross III’s parents Maria and Henry (nicknamed Beaver) in recognition of their outstanding efforts to make the 49^thSenate District a safer place and ensure that what happened to their son does not happen to others.

“The ‘Send It HDR III App’ will help make snowmobiling and outdoor recreational activities safer for users who enjoy winter activities on the Great Sacandaga Lake.  The Ross family, with their many friends and supporters, have turned their personal tragedy and the loss of their son Henry, into a mission to help others enjoy the Adirondacks and outdoor activities safely and represent what makes the 49^thSenate District a wonderful place to live, work and visit,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
