(R,C,I,REF-Halfmoon), Senator George Amedore (R,C,I,REF-Rotterdam) and their Senate Colleagues to "Rock the Socks" for Down Syndrome Awareness.
This issue has a special place in Senator Tedisco's heart as his late brother, Joey Tedisco, had Down Syndrome.
"It's a great day for those of us who have experienced the lessons of joy and unconditional love from these very special children and loved ones, who have been, and are wonderful parts of our families. We have an obligation to do everything we can to let them -- and all New Yorkers -- be everything they can be with the God-given talents they've been given," said Senator Tedisco, who has been an outspoken advocate for the #BFair2Directcare movement to ensure direct care professionals, who care for some of our most vulnerable citizens, are paid a fair wage.
