Senator Jim Tedisco

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) today joined Glenville Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle, members of the Town Board, and the Buhrmaster family to officially break ground on the new “Glenville Town Center James R. Buhrmaster Pathway.”
Tedisco was pivotal in making the project happen by helping to secure a $250,000 state grant for the construction of the new pedestrian trail on Glenridge Road that will go from the intersection of Route 50 to the entrance to the Woodhaven neighborhood in Glenville.
Senator Tedisco, Supervisor Koetzle and the Town Board announced that the trail, which is expected to be completed this fall, will be named after the late Schenectady County Legislator, small business owner and life-long resident of Scotia/Glenville James “Jim” Buhrmaster. They were joined by Jim Buhrmaster’s son, Kevin Buhrmaster.
“I’m proud to have been able to fight for and secure a $250,000 state grant to return tax dollars back to the 49thSenate District that will benefit Glenville residents for years to come in terms of enhancing their quality of life, public safety and promoting positive health and physical fitness with the addition of the new ‘Glenville Town Center James R. Buhrmaster Pathway.’ Through the naming of the trail after Jim Buhrmaster, who was a dedicated, caring and beloved public servant, his memory will continue to live on in the center of the town he called home.”
“This represents another piece in the town’s overall pedestrian trail and will connect at least a thousand residents to our commercial corridor,” said Glenville Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle. “I am proud that our vision of making Glenville more walkable and pedestrian friendly in order to help reduce our impact on the environment, promote fitness and deliver desired amenities to our residents is starting to become a reality.”
“Jim loved his community. He passionately committed a lifetime of volunteering his time and energy in order to make it a better place for everyone. That is why I feel Jim would be honored to have his memory, and what he stood for, aligned with the Glenville Town Center Pathway. On behalf of Jim, and our family, thank you for this special tribute,” said Sandra C. Buhrmaster, Jim Buhrmaster’s wife.
