Albany, NY – Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed State Senator Kevin Parker’s bill banning the sale, possession, and manufacturing of 3D printed guns - also known as Ghost Guns, in the State of New York. Parker’s bill, Senate Bill S.1414-A protects New Yorkers from guns that cannot be detected by a metal detector or any other machine used to screen or inspect persons and objects for such items.
“New York continues to be a national leader in preventing gun violence. 3D and undetectable guns have no place on our streets and my law will create safer communities for all. I applaud Governor Cuomo, the Senate Democratic Majority, and the State Assembly for their commitment to addressing the gun violence epidemic,” said Senator Parker.
Persons found to violate this new law can be charged with a Class D Felony, punishable by up to seven years in jail.
