(Garden City, NY) – Senator Kevin Thomas is joining his Democratic colleagues from State Senate for a public hearing about the Long Island Railroad. The hearing will be co-chaired by Sen. Leroy Comrie (D-Queens) and Sen. Tim Kennedy (D-Buffalo).
The hearings will feature MTA leaders, riders and other transportation advocates.
“I look forward to a vigorous, informative debate about what improvements are needed for the LIRR and how we can get there with minimal slowdowns for riders,” Senator Kevin Thomas said. “Having the hearing in Nassau County is a rare opportunity for residents, who commute often to New York City, to weigh in on this important conversation.”
(Senator Thomas will be available for media interviews before or after the hearing.)
