ASTORIA, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris and Riders Alliance co-hosted a Happy Hour for Better Public Transit on Thursday, August 15th. Senator Gianaris is a tireless advocate for accessibility, more funding, and increased oversight of the MTA. The Happy Hour for Better Transit took place at Katch Astoria on Newtown Avenue.
“I was pleased to work with Riders Alliance to welcome our neighbors for a lively discussion of the transit issues impacting western Queens,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “This year, we achieved both increased funding and increased oversight, including a requirement for an independent audit of the MTA. Together we can do even more to improve trains and buses for area residents.”
