Senator Helming, Assemblymen Johns and Manktelow Hosting Electronics Recycling Event in Webster

GENEVA – Senator Pam Helming, Assemblyman Mark Johns, and Assemblyman Brian Manktelow today announced that they will host an Electronics Recycling Day event. This event will take place on Saturday, September 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Xerox, located at 800 Phillips Road in Webster. It is made possible with support from Sunnking Inc. electronics recycling company.

People may drop off and properly dispose of computers, tube TVs and monitors, telephones, microwaves, and other small electronics and appliances. No more than two TV sets or monitors per vehicle will be accepted. Please visit sunnking.com for a full list of acceptable items.

“Electronic goods cannot be recycled in the same manner that regular recyclable material is, and it should not be thrown out with our usual garbage. It needs to be disposed of properly and safely, and that is what our partners at Sunnking will help our community members do at this event. At this event, people can get rid of the old electronics that have been cluttering up their homes. Assemblyman Manktelow said, “There are many people who get stuck with these outdated or broken electronic items. Constituents call my office all the time for advice on how to properly dispose of them. Without these recycling events, it is really difficult and can also be expensive. There are not a lot of options, especially in rural areas. We don’t want to see them become litter because people don't know what to do with them and want to eliminate the clutter in their homes. We're also going to have the Boy Scouts from Wayne County help out with the recycling event, so they can share in the generous two-cent per pound donation from SunnKing, Inc. I am happy to sponsor this event with Senator Helming.”
