December 13, 2019
AUBURN- Senator Pam Helming recently attended Auburn Rotary’s Meeting where the club gifted Joel Campagnola, Founder and President of Nick’s Ride 4 Friends, with a $15,000 donation to help with costs for an expansion of the organization. Nick’s Ride 4 Friends is a not-for-profit that is dedicated to heroin and opioid addiction prevention. This grassroots organization, founded in honor of Nick Campagnola, works to help others through recovery programs and community events.
“Our state has seen its first drop in years in heroin and opioid related deaths which is an amazing sign of hope for those struggling with addiction. Our organizations that have made it their mission to help those struggling with addiction have played a huge part in this decline. I thank the Auburn Rotary Club for their generous donation and a special thank you to Joel Campagnola for everything he has done not only for Auburn, but all of Cayuga County,” Senator Helming said.
In addition to the donation by the Auburn Rotary Club that will help with initial costs and this season’s programming, the expansion of Nick’s Ride 4 Friends is being supported through the State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant program. The facility will be located at 13 Chapel Street, Auburn.
