Senator Helming Hosts Barktober Pet Food Drive
October 1, 2019
Senator Pam Helming is teaming up with the Beverly Animal Shelter in Seneca County to host her first annual Barktober Pet Food Drive. Donations can be dropped off today through October 31st at her Geneva District Office, located at 425 Exchange Street.
“As winter approaches there is an especially urgent need for dog and cat food at our local animal shelters. This year, I am teaming up with the Beverly Animal Shelter to host my first annual Barktober Pet Food Drive. Companion animals bring so much joy to our lives and this is just one way we can help and support the dedicated volunteers who take in and rehabilitate abandoned and abused animals in our community until they can be matched with their forever homes. As Senator, I will continue to work with our local animal shelters to support their efforts and push for laws that hold accountable those who abuse pets,” said Senator Pam Helming.
“We took in close to 150 animals just in September, many requiring veterinary care. It’s important to come together as a community and support local shelters and their efforts to help find forever homes for rescues. We look forward to working with Senate Helming on her Barktober effort and appreciate our partnership serving local rescue animals,” said Dallyn Jenkins.
The following items will be accepted: bagged dry dog and cat food, wet dog, kitten and cat food, animal treats, kitty litter, and unused toys. For more information, Senator Helming’s Office can be reached at 315-568-9816.
