Senator Pam Helming joins hundreds of students to support Finger Lakes Works … With Their Hands!
October 3, 2019
Senator Helming recently joined local students, teachers, and skilled tradespeople at the 14th Annual Finger Lakes Works … With Their Hands! This important local program brings high school students to Lott Farms in Seneca Falls to get hands on learning experiences in the construction industry and other skilled trades. They have the chance to learn about career opportunities after they graduate and get to learn more about the many available jobs that local employers have open. Today’s visit is part of Senator Helming’s ongoing efforts to support workforce development and share employment options with young people. One of the top issues cited during her Summer of Small Business tours was the difficulty local employers are having finding people to fill positions in the trades and skills manufacturing.
