Statement From Senator Harckham on the Death of Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Michael Kozloski From Mahopac

(Mt. Kisco, NY) Senator Pete Harckham (SD40) released the following statement today after learning that an active duty Coast Guard member, who originally hailed from Mahopac, was killed in an accident in Alaska:
“My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Michael Kozloski, who died in a tragic on duty accident in Alaska on January 31st. Mr. Kozloski, who originally hailed from Mahopac, was a member of the Coast Guard Cutter Hickey and served his country admirably for over 17 years. His devotion to duty and public service defending our nation will never be forgotten. His family, friends and members of his unit will be in our thoughts and prayers. Let us never forget the sacrifices the members of the military make defending our freedom."
New York State Senate District 40 includes parts of Northern Westchester (Briarcliff Manor, Buchanan, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, Mount Pleasant, New Castle, North Salem, Peekskill, Pleasantville, Pound Ridge, Sleepy Hollow, Somers, Yorktown) Putnam (Brewster, Carmel, Patterson, Southeast) and Dutchess (Beekman, Pawling).
