Senator Rachel May Announces Over $21 Million in Funding and Grant Awards for Central New York

Albany, NY - Senator Rachel May (D-Onondaga, Madison, Oneida) is proud to announce the allocation of over $21 million in funding for infrastructure, parks, business development, and our youth.
Over the past several weeks, substantial investments have been announced to benefit Central New York, including:
- $500,000 allocation to the Syracuse Employment and School Opportunity Network (SEASON) Program benefiting at-risk youth and combating youth violence.
- $555,905 for Oneida City School District and $6.7 Million for Syracuse City School District for High-Tech Security investments. Investments in high-tech school security support the purchase of new equipment, such as high-resolution digital cameras to enhance districts' video surveillance capabilities, and other safety technology.
- $1.2 Million to resurface a portion of Route 80 from Vesper to Route 11/281.
- $2.6 Million to resurface Route 11A from Route 80 to the Onondaga Nation.
- $970,000 to resurface Route 13 from Ferndell Rd. to Falls Rd. in Madison County.
- $5 Million to the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority to expand transit service hours of operations.
- $280,000 to the City of Syracuse to connect a new on-road bicycle route from Lodi St. to the Empire State Trail.
- $1.2 Million to the City of Syracuse to rehabilitate the Creekwalk trail crossing over Onondaga Creek.
- $900,000 to Green Lakes State Park for road and building repairs.
- $71,100 to the Cazenovia Preservation Foundation in the form of a Professional Development Grant.
- $1.5 Million Capital Investment through the ReCharge NY program to Manth-Brownell Inc. in Kirkville for investments in low-cost clean power, this investment will support 120 jobs at the facility.
