SERINO THANKS COMMUNITY FOR DONATIONS MADE TO DRESS FOR SUCCESS DUTCHESS COUNTY

HYDE PARK, NY – Senator Sue Serino today thanked the local community for their generous support of the annual clothing drive for Dress for Success Dutchess County. This year’s collection was one of the most successful drives yet, drawing almost one hundred community members who donated countless outfits and accessories to help empower local women as they work toward gaining economic independence.

“I am always amazed to see just how many women turn out to support one another by donating to this amazing community organization, and this year’s drive did not disappoint,” said Senator Sue Serino. “Dress for Success Dutchess County goes above and beyond to empower women in our community and this drive is just one small way we can help them achieve their mission as they work to give women the tools they need to thrive in and beyond the workplace. We cannot thank our friends and neighbors enough for their support and generosity throughout this year’s drive, and we are grateful to the Dress for Success leaders who work tirelessly to help local women achieve their personal and professional goals.”

Dress for Success Dutchess County is a sponsored program through the Community Action Partnership aimed at empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive.

The professional attire they receive through donation drives like this one are used to style professional outfits that are provided to local women free of charge. Women who visit the Dress for Success Boutique, located in Poughkeepsie, receive five professional outfits to ensure that they have access to the attire they need for their initial interviews and as they go on to launch their careers. Dress for Success also provides access to extensive career and life-coaching services, with various workshops taught by community volunteers that focus on everything from resume writing to financial planning.
