Sen. Kaminsky Secures $50k for Long Beach Christmas Angel in State Budget

(Albany, New York) — Today, Senator Todd Kaminsky announced that he secured $50,000 for the Long Beach Christmas Angel, a non-profit that provides financial assistance to local families in need. The organization will use $30,000 to support parents unable to work as they undergo cancer treatment or care for a child in treatment. The remaining $20,000 will be allocated for college prep tutoring services and materials for up to 20 hardworking students in need.
“The Long Beach Christmas Angel epitomizes the heart and spirit of our great City, providing vital assistance to families in need,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “I was proud to have secured $50,000 in this year’s state budget for this worthy cause. I have no doubt these funds will go a long way towards helping those in need in our community.”

The Long Beach Christmas Angel is a non-profit organization that provides temporary financial assistance to families in need within the Long Beach School District. The organization works with social workers from the school district and provides assistance by paying rent, utility bills, taxes, and mortgages, in addition to supplying basic needs such as food, medical supplies, mattresses and clothing for selected families.
