(New City, NY) – Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) announced today that Rockland County businesses can now apply for low-interest disaster recovery loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) effective immediately.
On St. Patrick's Day, Carlucci joined local small business owners in Rockland to call on the State and federal government to work together to offer access to the loans through the SBA. The effort coming after the State's mandated closure of restaurants, bars, movie theaters, and gyms in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Following Carlucci's efforts, the State submitted an application for Rockland County seeking Economic Injury Disaster Loans through the SBA, and today small businesses in Rockland are able to access the loans.
Small businesses who are severely financially impacted by the coronavirus can now apply for a loan of up to $2 million in assistance.
Senator David Carlucci said, "Our small businesses are being gravely impacted by the coronavirus. We must offer them relief, and I applaud the State and federal government for working together to deliver access to these loans for Rockland and Westchester County small businesses."
Westchester County businesses were previously elegible to apply. If a small business owner would like to apply for an SBA loan, he or she can go to: https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
