Senator James Sanders Jr. Introduces Legislation to Combat Coronavirus Impact

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, State Senator James Sanders Jr. has introduced a package of legislation that he believes will help all New Yorkers during this difficult time.
“As an elected representative of the state government, it is my duty and my responsibility to my constituents and the people of New York, to do all I can to ease the burden we are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic,” Sanders said. “It is my belief that his package of legislation will bring relief to many who are suffering during this time.”
S8106 - Extends absentee voting to all residents for all primaries or special elections occurring before June 24, 2020
S8121 - Establishes the state of emergency minority and women owned business enterprises loan and grant program
S8109 - Relates to suspending mortgages and loans from state-chartered banks and credit unions for small businesses and restaurants that have closed or reduced services due to the coronavirus.
S8124 - Requires airlines and travel insurance companies to provide refunds for travel cancelled due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
S8123 - Permits any individual to receive free coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing.
