State Senator James Sanders Jr. said: “There were many times when President Trump tried to downplay the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic. He refused to wear a mask. He held large gatherings where social distancing was not observed, and he misled the American people into thinking that this disease was similar to the flu and would disappear just as easily. Now, President Trump and the First Lady have publicly admitted to having contracted coronavirus. It is unfortunate that this happened and I hope they both make a full and speedy recovery. Perhaps, now, the Commander-in-Chief will use his time in quarantine to ponder what the experience has been like for people and their families all across this nation.”
