Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) honored the Broadalbin-Perth Middle School Future City Team for their 2nd Place finish at the Capital Region Future City Competition.
The Broadalbin-Perth students created a Star Wars-themed presentation of a city with a tainted water supply and an action plan for how to fix it. The team wrote an essay, built a 3D model of their city and presented before a panel of judges.
In addition to winning second place in the completion, the team also won for Best Use of Construction Materials, Best Complete Streets Design and Best City to Live In.
Senator Tedisco welcomed the Broadalbin-Perth Team to the state Capitol and presented them with a NYS Senate Proclamation.
"The Force was with the Broadalbin Perth Middle School students who demonstrated their ingenuity and creativity with their Star Wars-themed City of the Future design as they won Second Place at the Capital Region Future City Competition. The students and their instructors did a fantastic job and should be proud of their great work," said Senator Jim Tedisco.
